Head of Primary Care Development at Target Ovarian Cancer
Dr Sharon Tate is Head of Primary Care development at Target Ovarian Cancer, leading on the charity’s mission critical work to ensure all women with ovarian cancer are diagnosed at the earliest possible stage.
Dr Tate leads the Early Diagnosis team whose work focuses on supporting improving knowledge of ovarian cancer among primary care professionals, and ensuring appropriate systems are in place to support healthcare professionals in getting women on the right diagnostic pathway at the earliest opportunity.
Under Dr Tate’s leadership the Early Diagnosis team has supported over 16,000 GPs from across the UK improve their knowledge of ovarian cancer through a bespoke education programme. Currently, Dr Tate is leading a project that aims to understand regional variation in early diagnosis of ovarian cancer and develop interventions to improve equity in early diagnosis across England.
