Gydhia Zuhair Al-Chalaby


Gydhia is a sessional General Practitioner with special interest in family planning, sexual healthcare, and diabetes management. She graduated from Baghdad University/ College of Medicine/ Iraq in 2004. Few years later Gydhia moved to the UK and commenced in a foundation training programme as a junior doctor. Thereafter, she decided to pursue a career in general practice and successfully completed the training requirements to become a member of the Royal College of General Practitioner (RCGP) and was awarded MRCGP in 2015.

Since then, Gydhia has worked in a variety of primary care settings as well as working hard to further develop her special interests in family planning and sexual healthcare. She has completed two postgraduate diplomas (DRCOG and DFSRH) and the training required to gain the letter of competency in contraceptive implants and coils insertion and removal. She is a member of FSRH UK events committee and a member of the FSRH international committee. Gydhia has also completed a postgraduate diploma in diabetes awarded by the University of South Wales/UK in September 2018 with a distinction degree and completed Master’s degree in diabetes in September 2020. She has a great passion for teaching and academic activities; she is an OSCE examiner at the University of Liverpool for third year medical students and a former GMC( General Medical Council) associate examiner for PLAB 2 examination for the International Medical Graduates.
