Michelle Jenkins

Michelle Jenkins is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in Sexual health. She is currently employed in a large busy London Sexual Health Service, which offers a comprehensive range of clinics and specialist services in Sexual Health, Contraception and HIV.

Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in sexual health both in her home area of Lancashire and currently in London. Her current role involves the independent management and treatment of patients with both sexual and reproductive health care needs.

In addition to the clinical role along with ANP colleagues she is responsible for the development and training of the Nurses and Health Care Assistant’s in the service. The role of the sexual health nurse/ HCA is constantly evolving.  Michelle is particularly keen to support the development of the role of the HCA. She has been integral in the development of policies and the role out training for HCA’s to administer vaccines and supply PREP.

As a Non-Medical prescriber and Faculty Registered Trainer she is involved in the training of nurse colleagues to complete the DFSRH and LOC for SDI and IUT.

Michelle has been involved with the FSRH for 6 years, initially as the nurse representative for the clinical standards committee and currently on the FSRH Events committee.
